Canucks Brunch
Decrepit Crescendo
With trade winds, player and fan discontent swirling, the Canucks head to Phoenix for an important game vs the Coyotes. Are the Canucks making moves to load up for the playoffs, as they would have us believe, or are they already dead in the water?
What Are You Trying To Say? I'm Crazy?
I'd love to be able to say we've hit peak insanity in Canuckville, but it seems like they keep upping the crazy like that kid you knew in Grade 3 who could be dared to eat anything.
Fire Cleanses
No matter how bad things got for the Canucks over the last few years, we could always take solace in the fact that twice a year, the Canucks would beat the Leafs. I have some bad news for you...
We're So Boned
Screwed. Toast. History. Dead in the freakin' water. No matter how you look at it, this team is going nowhere. Damn them to hell for having the kind of December they had, because it gave us nothing but false hope.
And Now For Something Completely (Not) Different
We'd all love a normal game right about now. The last 2 weeks have been nuts, but I have some bad news for you all: It's not going away any time soon. The Canucks are gonna continue playing teams that are out for blood: Tonight, it's the Oilers.
Hockey Day In Canada, Eh?
It's Hockey Day In Canada, that manufactured holiday where we all gather around and get nostalgic about the CBC, good Canadian boys and antiquated notions about how we think we remember the game. It's all a bunch of crap.
Canada/Finland and Canucks/Kings
A veritable plethora of hockey for you to enjoy today, as we start the morning off with the WJC Semifinal matchup between Canada and Finland, and end the night with the Canucks looking to get back to their road warrior ways against the Kings.
I Got Yer Dagger Right Here
Some might bemoan the new balanced schedule in that it only sees the Canucks play the Chicago Blackhawks twice. I actually dig this, as the games take on a little more meaning. Absence makes the heart grow fonder or something like that. Bastards.
Canucks Brunch- I Don't Care
Some of us (myself included) had that lingering thought the Canucks might look past the Oilers last night. Boy, did they show us (and the Oilers), and now prepare to face the Boston Bruins, and while it's a big game, don't believe the hype.
Canucks Breakfast
After 3 days off that seemed more like an eternity, the Canucks are back at it tonight against the Oilers. I want to believe they're not looking ahead to tomorrow night's game against the Bruins...
Canucks Brunch: Tripping Over The Same Rock
A look at last night's win over the Avs, featuring a trend-bucking 3rd period from the Canucks, and examining a weekend of idiocy in the NHL and why they continue to trip over the same rock.
Just Win... Please?
After what seems to be just another proto-typical Canucks game Saturday night, the boys seem to be pretty pissed off right now. Maybe the Canucks need to embrace their inner Tortorella as they take on the Kings tonight?
Canucks Brunch- Bigger Fish, Etc
Yes, last night was great, and yes tonight is gonna be awesome, but here at Nucks Misconduct we've got something else on our minds. Tonight we're calling on you to help those devastated by Typhoon Haiyan as we raise money for the Canadian Red Cross.
Perception Versus Reality Or Something...
Here we are, with the Canucks in the midst of a slump that appears to be a combination of bad luck mixed with a steady succession of hot opposing goalies? What's really going on here?
Mailbag time
Mailbag time, kids. Today we're going to devote some time (sadly, so) to someone who obviously doesn't grasp the concept here at Nucks Misconduct, and took the time to email me personally. I guess he never played the internets before.
Bounce This!
As frustrating as losses to the *spits on the ground* Sharks are when they happen like that, the way the Canucks are playing is more conducive to wins than losses, but some bounces their way wouldn't hurt.
The IlLEAFinati is REAL!
I'd suspected it for years. The way so many Leafs fans seemed to get their hands on tickets when they came to town. Was it really a case of people looking to make a quick buck? The answer was something far worse.
Not This Time...
Kind of funny how it all worked out, isn't it? If there was one team we here in the West always wanted to see shuttled off to the East where they can't be a bother anymore, it had to be the Detroit Red Wings.
Not So Far From You
The triumphant road warriors return, bloodied but unbowed. Okay, that may be a bit much but it's safe to say few saw the Canucks collecting 11 of a possible 14 points on that road swing. They're back to face the Washington Capitals tonight!
Canucks Brunch- Maximum Overchill
The last game of a 7 game, 11 night Eastern road swing, the 2nd back to back to back set and they played in NJ the night before. Even getting a point tonight will be a miracle. Just get out unscathed and get home, boys.
Canucks Brunch- Can't get much worse... Or can it?
After that bloody awful game Sunday in Columbus, the Canucks head to Long Island for a chance to was the taste outta their mouths against the Islanders. Shame Michael Grabner won't be in the lineup tonight.
Nucks Brunch- Round on the end. High in the middle
After a well deserved point in the tie against the Penguins (that's right, I said tie. I no longer will recognize the legitimacy of shootouts) the Canucks find themselves in Columbus, Ohio. On purpose.
Canucks Breakfast- Seriously? 10 am?
Will we even be sufficiently caffeinated to deal with hockey at 10 am? Who plays this early? Anyway, the Canucks face the biggest test of the young season as they roll into Pittsburgh for a rare meeting against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Canucks Brunch- Shuffle...
Game 2 of the roadtrip from hell continues, this time it's Buffalo, a city we as Canucks fans share a kinship with. No this has nothing to do with Cody, but the Sabres themselves and... the Buffalo Bills?
Canucks Brunch- Scorn From The Lowest Place
After a couple 4-1 losses at home, you can't blame the Canucks for wanting to get out on the road. The Canucks need a kickstart in a bad way, and it could come in the form of Jordan Schroeder, who makes his return to the lineup tonight in Philly.
Canucks Brunch- Digging The Grave
If you count preseason games, this will be game 12 for the current edition for the Vancouver Canucks. Alex Edler's 3 game penalty issued yesterday is the latest one. Are the Canucks their own worst enemy?
Canucks Brunch- I Think I'm Gonna Hertl
Yeah, yeah. The rookie's had a hell of a first week or so. Let's not kid ourselves, the Canucks have to be a little more concerned about the sum of those parts than any particular one. The first real test of the John Tortorella era comes tonight.
Canucks Brunch- Shout At The Devils
Thanks to some great scheduling from the NHL, we don't have to wait long before Cory Schneider's return to Vancouver. While it's nice to see him back, here's hoping the Canucks aren't generous hosts tonight as they take on the Devils.
Canucks Brunch- Well That Didn't Take Long
If there was one thing that you could truly count on with the arrival of John Tortorella as coach of the Canucks, it was a change in attitude. Boy did we get that last night in a 6-2 win over the Oilers.
Canucks Brunch-Take As Needed For Pain
Coming off a stinker against the Sharks, the Canucks will need to be wary of Oilers out for revenge in tonight's home opener. Also, Alberts will be on the 4th line, meaning you don't have enough beer to deal with that.
Take a deep breath
and repeat after me: Hockey's back. Nice touch to have the Canucks take on the team that (mercifully) ended their season last time around.
Suspensions, Injuries and Hyperbole, Oh My!
Talk about your eventful weekends, huh? Injuries, suspensions, and internet screaming matches. I know we all missed hockey a lot, but the last couple days have a definite mid-season feel to them.
