You’d think after the terrible outings the last 2 games, that the #1 thing to improve on would be team D. Instead, seems the Nucks are more concerned with playing Team F.
There is no team F in the North division.
Unless, it’s NM and we’re Team Fugly.
There’s some issues with the team chemistry. As in there is none. Compared to the summer Nucks. Either the team want to see Green fired or Loui back in the line up.
Or they know there’s nothing to play for, because the Covidian 5th wave with a mutant Nuck fan variant will kill us all soon enough and put us out of our Nucking misery.
THE SILVER(ish) LINING:
Nucks still lead the league with the most goals scored with 47. There’s another couple stats they lead as well. Like leaking 55 goals against.
Consistency: Nucks have not won a game when scoring less than 4 goals. Consistency extended.
Bo got a goal. 1st one in 7 games.
THE FUGLY:
Giving up 37 shots to THE MOST IMPORTANT TEAM in Hockey while not even putting 20 shots on that team is too fugly to even curse about.
Worse. The Nucks let the former senior Senator play like Toffee. 37 year old Spezza got a hattie, FFS! Only had 2 goals on the season, now has 5.
Turnover road party now serving 13. Home bakery with only 6. But... the Flanucks gave up 17 to the Jets. And still lost.
THE FUGLY:
JT Miller. Not back checking or skating like last season’s JT. Playing injured? Instant age cliff drop at 27? So frustrated that his skates are mentally tied together?
Why can’t Miller skate forward?
when he gets the puck he turns back into his own end — Westy
Miller has no speed or stamina out there — Westy
There’s no one more frustrated about this than Miller. And no one can do anything about it. Except maybe Miller.
THE FUGLY:
2nd Period Collapsalypse is now a habit - despite the faint hope 2nd goal in the 2nd. What do they do in the room during the 1st intermission? Pray? Commiserate? Shout at the clouds? Watch summer playoff re-runs?
We were saving this for a ‘NM Special Sponsor’ spoof post. The spoof seems to be on us. Since watching the Nucks is getting as frustrating to watch as it is for Miller to play, we present a game thread distraction...

The game thread is ready to hang ‘em up.
Let’s all leave and forget this ever happened — Westy
Benn wished he could. But had to stick up for Quinn when he was boarded by Shitmittens. Too bad Myers doesn’t have a big tall mean streak. And lessons from Juice.
Win as a team, lose as a lost team drifting from a 1-3 road team into a 1-5 wretched road wreck.
The 2 Johns are here or there. That’s neither here nor there. We don’t care on casual Thursdays. And neither does Sportynet who took the 2 Johns off the net and replaced them with some windbagging smhowzers.

Bo says there’s nothing wrong in the room. Just wrong on the ice. No worries.
Miller, Horvat and Demko are at the mic, before coach Green speaks with the media. https://t.co/9XbRk0zCzb

Some say the Nucks haven’t hit bottom. Yet. It just feels like it. Yes, there are trying, but then either they try too hard to force a play or don’t try hard enough to stop a play.
Some say, the Nucks need to return to a simple style of play. The hard-to-play-against style. That seems far out of reach. Maybe just make the easy-play-to-against style contagious and hope it goes viral across the division.
Still... the game thread has some deployment suggestions that seem worth trying...
I wonder if we should try a 3 defenseman scheme
2 forwards and 3 defensemen at all times, then when one D-man stupidly jumps into the play, there’s still 2 left — radivel
As noted in the previous losing streak game, this new losing streak would be tougher to take. And it gets worse. The next game is against the MOST IMPORTANT TEAM in the Universe on HNIC this Saturday.
So... NM will do what we can to fan better - which isn’t much. The Nucks will try not to look tentative, tired and terrible. That’s probably the best we can hope for.
