It’s official. The Nucks aren’t a good hockey team at this point in their 6 7 8 year rebuild.
Can’t defend the Nucks that can’t defend a 3 goal lead.
There’s nothing to hope for this season. On the ice. There’s the draft. Faint hope.... but still.
While the Nucks are finding ways to lose, NM needs to find ways to drink more. With free hooch from fantasy sponsors.
Yes, it’s come to that.

THE ONE PERIOD:
While the Nucks aren’t a very good team over 3 periods, they can win 1 period out of 3.
Is that so bad?
Not really. Time for smooth talking JB to persuade the league in this shortened pandemic season to go the full length, make these bubbly games shorter too. Shorter by 2 periods.
Nucks led 3-0 until the last minute of the 1st. Good teams don’t give up 3 goal leads.
To be fair, the Nucks didn’t give up the next 3 Oil goals until the 3rd period. So that’s an improvement embarrassing result.
THE PATHETICALLY FUGLY:
Nucks can’t raise their compete level to match any team’s pushback. Also... the 3rd and 4th lines are too slow. But they’re paid well for their effort, not their execution.
The game thread was setting a lighter note on the waves of disdain.
any team can go on a bad losing streak
but to play without heart, without effort, to blow leads consistently with a complete inability to play a full 60 minute game outside of one game in twelve (the 5-1 win over calgary), this is why Green should be fired -
he also can’t call a timeout to save his fucking life. it’s infuriating; where is his fire on the bench? — copey
Later we’ll find out that Green didn’t feel they needed it. They had a good talk on the bench and just had to wait for the fire to start itself.
While he did check McD once early in the game, the Fedler™ penalty in the 3rd led to the Oil PP goal just 12 seconds later. Not nearly late enough. Ugh.
Worse, just when there was a chance (smallest chance) the Nucks could tie it up in the last couple minutes, Myers took a 2 minute tour of his summer cottage. Weirdly, Myers played pretty good most game, scored the 2nd Nucks goal. But, like the rest of the team, Myers isn’t built to play smart for the full 60.
Too many penalties. No penalties in the first, because the team knew they take too many penalties. But as the periods wore on... the most penalised team in the league extended its lead. Also... the Nucks top 10 PK has dropped to 21st. To match the league’s 22nd rated PP.
Just 2 goals away from joining the Sens with the most goals against. The party is just getting started. The Nucks could also displace the Sens from that coveted 7th spot in the division.
Atty doesn’t like it. I don’t like it. But the Nucks have only won a game this year when scoring 4 or more goals.
Every team in the league knows with mathematical certainty that when the Nucks have a 3 goal lead, it means a certain Nucks loss. Ouch.
Copey was on fire in the game thread, unlike the Nucks’ players in the 3rd.
bo was freaking invisible past his goal
plus he lost like every damn faceoff - he was Virtanen level bad this game, just totally indifferent - if the Canucks lose the next game…. I think Green’s done (again) (again)
THAT WAS FECKLESS, ZERO EFFORT, GARBAGE 3RD PERIOD SHITE.
DUMPSTER FIRE LEVEL.
This is closed no media Bo and Millsy scream it out at each other to figure out what the hell is wrong with their shit compete level.
I’ve seen Kyle Wellwood play harder than this. Get some heart boys. You suck hard right now. Totally playing to get Greener fired again. aGain. gaNE. gone. — copey
Dumpster Fire Level?
Oh... there’s an NM App for that.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22228986/NM_dumpsterfireondemand.jpg)
While Pete appears to be heating up, Brock and Miller are not. Brock did not have a good game - so many lost puck battles and bad passes. Miller does not enjoy 3rd periods. 2 periods is his limit.
Rous was playing like... well... the Gourmet Game Changing Turnover Chef. Also took a stupid penalty. The game changing turnover was after the PK when he got out of the box.
Not going to rag on individual players... any further. Win as a team, lose as a team. Now sporting a 3 game losing streak. So... just in the middle of the L-streak.
The 2 John’s comment in horror as we watched in horror.

Why even have a presser after such a depressing game? Don’t know.
Post-game availability expected to include Horvat, Myers & Demko, followed by Coach Green.#Canucks | @TheProvince https://t.co/lJKvshV7ur

Franny has stated full confidence in the path JB and team have chosen.
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/22325178/NM_Tank_to_21_Draft.jpg)
So, this is the third time
That everybody will call for heads to roll.
I don’t think that anybody can survive this. — Atty
Except JB and Greener are stuck with Franny and us. And Franny is stuck with losing millions and doesn’t seem willing to pay for new hires in the back office.
The bad news is... firing Green and JB now will do nothing for this season which is all but lost. Team needs a full revamp of the roster. It’s that R word. Revamp. Re-juvenate. No... team needs a Rebuild. But this time with feeling and a better bottom 6. And augmented top 6. Is that asking so much? Check back in 5 to 10 years.
The good news is... there is no good news. Other than we’re almost to the half way point of this horrid season.
If the losing continues through the mid-season sign post, it might be a good time develop the young kids with lots of ice time.
However, with Green in his final season, is coaching from a conflict-of-interest. He just wants the next win - and mistake-prone kids can’t be trusted. Altho... mistake-prone vets don’t seem to be helping either.
The retro inverse lining is that this is a kid’s game played by millionaires that’s fun to watch in the middle of a pandemic. Or was last summer.
We haven’t seen a Nucks season this bad in this century. But, hey... there’s another record the Nucks can steal from 20th century infamy.
