#BRUCEBUMP Makes 3 Dreams Come True

This game was the toughest test for Bruce and his new team of freshly confident players. Winterpeg features a group of big bruising fast skating players. We don’t like those types of players going up against our just freshly Bruced-up team.

Not only that, but it seemed that the Peg supplied the refs for the game. Nucks didn’t get a call until mid 3rd period.

How the f*** is that not boarding? — marcness52

Visually impaired refs?

wtf boarding not a thing to these refs? — Twitchy

Refs can miss stuff, but not the gamethread.

The check that bloodied Garland certainly looked like boarding — Gwailoh

Anyhow, while the Jets were flying in unpenalized cheapshots, the Nucks returned to their generous party host methods - served up 16 turnovers in the ROG. 16! Come on! Don’t feed the Connor-vores and their Wheeler dealers.

Doesn’t matter.

The Nucks PK only gave up a goal on 3 terrifying kills. The Nucks got one PP chance in the 3rd, but by that time were unfamiliar with over-manned tactics. And got a 4-on-3 in OT, which they were unprepared for as well. Something Bruce can bump up in time.

Doesn’t matter.

Nucks had more high danger shots 16-11 over the bruising turbines. Might seem surprising since those Nucking giveaway moments were scary. But Demmers stopped breakaways and getaways from many mass-baked Nucking ROG turnovers. While the Jets liked the turnover taste, Demmer makes most turnovers indigestible.

Nucks get on the board first. And as we know from the Book of Bruce, 1st goal wins. Or maybe that’s just in OT. Will look it up sometime. Sometime when the refs decide to look up the rulebook.

Tonight was Hoagie’s turn to reap the Bruce ‘Just Shoot It’ mantra. And what a play.

Hogs shimmies then shakes then bakes — ‘82

Want to see it again in mesmerizing slo-mo? Me too.

Since Nils loves to score on Winni, why not another. Just Shoot It still playing on the Bruce loop. Play started with Demmer’s just save it motto - on repeat. Nice combo of motifs.

NUCKS SCORRREEEE — Raddy

While Högs can play slick as Nils, he can also make big bruisers sit.

What would have been the GWG, if not for stuff, Miller feeds Gnarly for a beauty breakaway goal for the 3-2 lead.

Wowwww what a breakaway

That goalie should check his if he’s still wearing underwear, he got so undressed — Raddy

Garland with a sweet breakaway deke for the goal. Almost makes you forget Chiasson soiling the bed not once but twice — Gwailoh

Not a good night for Chase - or fan(s) of Chase.

Oh well...

We can now extoll the virtues of low CG on breakaways again.

FROM OT TO SO:

Moving onto the moment we’ve been waiting for... feels like 25 games, but time is a weird thing in the 2 iGMs a week on the new Nucks compressed timeline.

Dekey Pete scores the most important goal of the game - the only goal of the skillz section.

I’m predicting a hat-trick by Petey next game — ‘82

No pressure Pete - ‘82 taking risks he doesn’t have to fulfil. Maybe it’s the Smug Rum some are passing around the game thread.

Wooooooooooooooo!!!

Pete wins the game! Well... Pete and Demmers together in the 5th period of skill testing resolve.

IMPRESSOR #3

Gnarly giving us the reality check - but we checked out of reality last Monday.

Nils having fun shooting - shooting smiles at the media.

Demmers explaining his ShootOut wizardry. His instincts are very very good.

Bruce bumping up the pressers with more of his infectious enthusiasm - and masterpiece painting tips. Gabby is making the Nucks fun to watch again - and pressers to enjoy.

BRUCE - THERE IT IS.

3rd straight win for Gabby’s happy Nucklings. They sure look happier than they did last week. And so do we. Maybe a change (of coach) is as good as a rest. Better than anyone of us, other than Westy, expected. Westy is saving up for a bigger screen, since his constantly growing smugness is blocking most of the screen world.

The Nucks perhaps didn’t play as well as the previous games under iGM Steamer, but they’ve been D-pleted under new iGM, JR.

Still... like iGM Steamer, iGM Rutherford’s record is flawless.

Some might be wondering why Franny didn’t make all these changes sooner. Some might be wondering if these radical Nucking changes can sustain more winning. Don’t know. Ask Westy.

But we do know the Nucks are going to be more fun to watch. More wins would be more fun too.
