  • There has been news trickling out for a while, but Vancouver is officially OUT as a hub city for the NHL play in series. The Canucks released their official statement on Twitter yesterday:

Judging by the Twitter response, most Canucks fan seem pleased with decision. And for good reason. The benefits of being a hub city appear to be marginal, and why take a risk when the province is doing so well? Thomas Drance has some specifics on the issues involved:
