New York Islanders v Vancouver Canucks
Should teams like the Vancouver Canucks who gave up assets for players be compensated if the season is cancelled? We discuss the hypotheticals on Silky N’ Filthy.

Which teams get screwed over the most by the NHL’s coronavirus pause?

That’s the main question regarding the hockey talk on today’s episode of Silky N’ Filthy. Of course, every team is hurting from the shutdown. Revenues are taking a massive hit, and teams that were preparing to write their playoff stories have suddenly seen the ink dry up.

While Kyle and I give our takes on teams who should be the most disappointed by NHL’s pause, we also touch on teams that gave up assets at the trade deadline.

Of course, there’s no chance the NHL is reversing trades. Players like Jean-Gabriel Pageau and former Canucks prospect Tyler Madden have already signed with their new teams. However, if the season is cancelled, are there other measures that could be taken to give these a break based on the trades they made?

We continue on with our expanded Meanwhile in Canadia segment here on Nucks Misconduct. Kyle brings up some stories from this week in history, which leads into a discussion about gangsters and hardcore journalists from Canada. We also touch on how some Canadian businesses have stepped up in the wake of COVID-19.

The battle of learning French continues with our “En Francais, S’il Vous Plait” segment continues, and it gets a little dirty. We then end the episode with some Canadian TV talk, including a dive into the success of Corner Gas.

Here’s a rundown of this week’s pod:

  • The playoffs would have started this week. Would they have made it? (6:00)
  • NHL Trade Deadline Trade-Backs? (9:00)
