In times like these, all you can do is dream and reminisce.
That’s what The Quickie managed to do last week.
Why the 14-15 Canucks plummeted so rapidly
Five years ago today was the last time the #Canucks kicked off a playoff series.

On The Quickie I look at that team from five years ago and talk about why everything fell apart so rapidly, and how that squad compares to today's Canucks.https://t.co/flGJAGusvu pic.twitter.com/Zs5ClDZidm
Remember when the 2014-15 Canucks were a top-10 team in the NHL, only to plummet to the NHL basement in the following year?
I look at a few key reasons why that drop off occurred, and break down the debate over which team was better: the ‘14-15 Canucks or the ‘19-20 squad.
Don’t even bother, Tampa
Why would Tampa Bay even bother chirping Miami?
— Trevor Beggs (@TrevBeggs) April 16, 2020
I get into that, while looking at the best and worst performances among Tampa Bay's smaller forwards this season, on The Quickie.
This one's for you Tampa: https://t.co/fStqVRJWNJ pic.twitter.com/XsZg53AX3Z
Tampa’s biggest mistake of all time was chirping Miami.
On the ice however, things are pretty rosy for the inferior Floridan city (although really, which city in Florida isn’t inferior?). Among Tampa’s smaller forward however, there were mixed results in ‘19-20. I give my picks for the most surprising player on the team and the biggest disappointment on The Quickie.
Dreaming of a Hughes, Byfuglien pairing
Y'all can laugh, but I'm here all day, every day for a Quinn Hughes, Dustin Byfuglien pairing.

Listen as I dream about the possibility on The Quickie: https://t.co/odTeHJLdB4 pic.twitter.com/BD8EaxzqNZ
Don’t tell me you didn’t do the same once news of Dustin Byfuglien’s contract termination broke on Friday.
Monday Morning Quickie: Taking it easy on CotU
From all of us @nucksmisconduct, our hearts go out to those affected by the shooting in Nova Scotia.

It's hard to provide a distraction without sports, but we do what we can at NM.
Here's my daily distraction, discussing the Maple Leafs on The Quickie: https://t.co/zATxmQZemQ pic.twitter.com/PEMurzPe9x
Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of reasons to chirp the city of Toronto, today just wasn’t the day to do it. I tell you my picks for their most surprising player and biggest disappointment, while offering sympathy to victims of the senseless shooting in Nova Scotia.
