I have a ton of tape on Jackson Kunz. He is a 6-foot-3 209-pound winger who finds open space well. He goes to soft areas of coverage and possesses great off-puck movement. His skating is an issue transitionally. Very hard shot and going to UND next season.

Another work in progress pick for the Canucks with their 2nd selection at this year’s NHL Entry Draft as they choose LW Jackson Kunz. He spent the last two seasons with the famed Shattuck St Marys Prep School program, putting up 62 goals in 78 games including 40-29-69 in 45 nice games last season. He’s going to be with the USHL’s Green Bay Gamblers this season before heading to the University Of North Dakota.
Kunz is one of the youngest players in this year’s draft, so don’t expect to hear much about him for a while as he transitions from junior to the NCAA. NHL Central Scouting had him ranked at #94 among North American skaters, so this could be a pick to keep an eye on down the road when we start evaluating the Canucks scouting department’s post-Judd Brackett era.
