If it’s all the same to you, we’re just going to forget about last night’s game. Seriously. It’s gone. And so we move forward with one last preseason game, as the Arizona Coyotes are in town to take on the Canucks.

The big news for the Canucks tonight is that Michael Ferland is good to go and we’ll see him paired up with Elias Pettersson. With Brock Boeser out with a concussion, it could mean either Josh Leivo or Nikolay Goldobin gets an opportunity to play on the top line. Or maybe Jake Virtanen gets another opportunity to cement a spot in the opening night roster?
The Coyotes are coming off a 4-2 win in Edmonton last night, but will be without Antti Raanta, who is day to day with the dreaded lower body injury. We likely won’t see new Coyote Phil Kessel, either as he is being given the night off.
Sure, it’s still a preseason game, but this one could have some pretty significant consequences, as the Canucks brass sit down to make their decisions about the opening night roster. Can Adam Gaudette do enough to make them think twice about sending him down? Are they willing to risk trying to send a guy like Goldobin, knowing how likely it is he would get snapped up? Is Loui Eriksson going to be a contributing member of the team, or just meh his way through another season? The answers to these questions and many more are coming soon... Enjoy the game, folks.
