The Hurricanes put forth a better effort but are still one game away from elimination after dropping Game Three to Boston last night.

BOSTON BRUINS 2 CAROLINA HURRICANES 1- (Boston leads series 3-0)

The Boston Bruins are one win away from advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals for the 3rd time in 9 years as they hung on to take a 2-1 win in Raleigh, NC last night. Despite a better effort from Carolina, they’re still unable to solve Tuukka Rask, save for a goal from Calvin DeHaan in this one.

Between the other-worldly play of Rask and the Hurricanes inability to take advantage of a number of power play opportunities, it’s looking more and more like there’s not going to be jerks raising the Cup this year, but a very familiar bunch of assholes instead. Gross.

I don’t often laugh at Don Cherry, but I found it utterly comical how he warned of ‘awakening’ Justin Williams after the first period he had. Yeah, I am quite sure the Bruins are totally afraid of how Williams has completely lost his composure and seems hellbent on taking penalties at a time the Boston power play is clicking along at a 30% or so rate. How utterly terrifying.

It’s going to take a miracle and the greatest come from behind victory in the history of the sport now to keep the Bruins from advancing. No pressure, jerks.
