COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS VS BOSTON BRUINS- 7:00PM EDT/4:00PM PDT- (Series tied 1-1)
It’s the first ever 2nd round playoff game in Blue Jackets’ franchise history, and it’s probably gonna be a little loud. Like, will they even hear the cannon if the Jackets score loud. And they have to feel pretty good about their chances. They could just as easily been up 2-0 in this series, as both games went to OT. They’ve been outplaying the Bruins for long stretches as Boston seems to be shooting themselves in the foot so far. I think we all know not to count out these Bruins, but if you’re rooting for Columbus, you have to be encouraged by the way they’re playing so far.
Bruins fans are reacting in a pretty reasonable way so far, it seems. No real changes coming up for either team, save for Chris Wagner out and Karson Kuhlman in for the Bruins.
COLORADO AVALANCHE VS SAN JOSE SHARKS- 10:00PM EDT/7:00PM PDT- (Series tied 1-1)
The Colorado Avalanche had a much better effort in Game 2, but they’re going to need to come up with a way to stop Brent Burns, who looks like he’s trying to singlehandedly take the series over for the Sharks. Both teams are likely to keep doing what has been working for them. Colorado got back to playing the style that helped them dismantle the Calgary Flames, but may want to tighten up defensively. The Sharks nearly pulled off the comeback, so no sense in making panicked changes there. Like we said at the start, this series is going to come down to the team whose goalie makes the least mistakes, and if the first two games are any indication we could be in for a long one.
GAME DAY BATTLE HYMN
There are a handful of debut albums out there that you can say truly shook the genre to it’s core. One such disc is MACHINE HEAD’s 1st album ‘Burn My Eyes’. With the band celebrating its’ 25th anniversary this year, they took 3⁄4 of the original lineup and went into the studio to re-record this essential slab of metal. Here’s a taste of that with ‘A Thousand Lies’ and the first single off the original, ‘Davidian’.
