NASHVILLE PREDATORS VS DALLAS STARS- 3:00PM EDT/12:00PM PDT (Series tied 2-2)

This has been a real back and forth series, as the favoured Predators have been given all they can handle by the upstart Dallas squad. Dallas had dropped 2 straight games to Nashville, but responded in Game 4 with a 5-1 stomping after thoroughly outplaying the Preds in Game 3 and having nothing to show for it. They also won the series opener in Nashville and could have the hosts on the ropes if they can keep going. Jamie Benn’s been a force to be reckoned with in this series, and they’ll keep leaning on him and hope that they get another subpar performance from Pekka Rinne again in the Nashville nets.

ST LOUIS BLUES VS WINNIPEG JETS- 7:00PM EDT/4:00PM PDT- (St Louis leads 3-2)

Normally I would favour the home team in this one, but considering the road team has been the victor in each of the 5 games, I certainly wouldn’t bet against the Jets forcing a Game 7 on Monday in Winnipeg. The Jets played a strong game Thursday but let up just enough to allow the Blues back into it, with a heartbreaking last minute goal to from Jaden Schwartz capping off a furious 3rd period comeback by the Blues. Will Jordan Binnington handle the pressure, especially after not getting it done in two opportunities at home?

WASHINGTON CAPITALS VS CAROLINA HURRICANES- 8:00PM EDT/5:00PM PDT- (Series tied 2-2)

After being the better team in Game 1, the Caps have struggled to contain these upstart Jerks, needing OT in Game 2, getting blown out in Game 3 and then failing to come back in Game 4. The series shifts back to DC, and they’ll be without TJ Oshie, injured after slamming heavily into the boards, pushed by Carolina’s Warren Foegele. Foegele received a boarding penalty on the play, but no further discipline. This didn’t sit well with Caps fans, nor their media, who reacted in a rather calm and rational way.

Sorry, Ed but someone who carries water for Tom Wilson doesn’t get to comment on whether other teams have been playing dirty. I know you must be thinking “maybe he was just upset in the moment, and upon reflection rolled it back a bit?”. I see you’re not familiar with this particular journalist, so the answer would be no, he actually doubled down:

Imagine bemoaning dirty play then evoking this? Hilarious. Anyway, the Caps have recalled Devante Smith-Pelly from Hershey of the AHL to take Oshie’s spot.

GAME DAY BATTLE HYMN

One of the bands that led the charge of a thrash metal revival in the US, FUELED BY FIRE put out a couple demos and an album (which was later re-released by Metal Blade Records). They’ve put out two since then, but still appear to be active despite no releases since 2013. From the album ‘Spread The Fire’ this is ‘Thrash Is Back!’.
