Gamethread #80: Canucks vs Sharks

The last chance for the Canucks to beat these fish.

NHL: San Jose Sharks at Vancouver Canucks Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports

If there was ever a chance for the Canucks to beat San Jose, it would be tonight. The Sharks are not able to catch the Flames for first place and will face Vegas no matter what in the first round. The Sharks have only lost once to the Canucks over the past three seasons, but tonight could be night number two as the Canucks really have been playing....ok.

The two game winning streak and 6-3-1 record in their past ten is not overly impressive when you look at the fact the Canucks only had two wins against a potential playoff team and lost to all other playoff teams they faced. There is still a lot of work to be done.

The Sharks might not want to take the night off as they want home advantage in the first round. They have to the luxury of having a team that doesn’t need Erik Karlsson to be on the ice to win...the Sharks already. have Brent Burns, Tomas Hertl....Logan Couture....umm..Joe Pavelski...holy crap Timo Meier.....and some old guy named Joe as well.

Nevermind all that.....tonight’s the night!!
