Silky N’ Filthy with your Canucks 2018-19 Season Recap: The Good, The Bad & The Benning...

We do say some nice things about Jimbo as well.

Silky N’ Filthy
The Canucks 2018-19 season ended without playoffs once again. Trevor & Kyle break it down on the latest episode of Silky N’ Filthy.

For the fourth straight season, the Vancouver Canucks ended up missing the playoffs. However, they did surpass the bar set by Silky N’ Filthy co-host Kyle Bhawan at the beginning of the season, when he asked for the Canucks to hit 80 points.

Well, they did have their best season in four years with 81 points on the season. Can they make another 10-point leap (or more?) and bring playoff hockey back to Vancouver next year?

It’s clear that lots of work will need to be done. What will some of these changes look like? Is Benning the right guy for the job?

Kyle and myself cover this and more in our sporadic season recap. Here’s a breakdown of the episode:

Our favourite moments from this Canucks season (4:20)

What to do with Jake Virtanen (8:45)

Benning’s “best” end of season comments (14:15)

Expectations for next season (25:15)

One nice thing to say about Jim Benning (29:00)

The most important offseason in Canucks history (30:25)

Beauty of the week (year?) (42:30)

The Markstrom trade scenario (45:30)

Listen to Silky N’ Filthy wherever you find podcasts. Want just the snippets? Follow us on Instagram or Twitter as well.

How about it, will the Canucks make the playoffs next year? Keep in mind that they’ve never gone five years without playoff hockey in their soon-to-be 50 year history.
