Playing the Islanders now, almost has the same feeling as the 1982 Stanley Cup Finals. There is not a great chance of a win. The Canucks have lost 5 out of the past 6 to the New York team. Who saw this Islanders evolving after losing Tavares this summer? They are # 1 in the Metropolitian division and have the fewest goals against in the league with a goaltending combo or Lehner and Greiss. I think the credit really has to go to the defensive responsibility their forwards have in their own end...eh em....take notes boys.
I have my fork ready for this season if the Canucks lose. No realistic trade could turn this young team into a playoff team with a chance of winning a round.
If the Nucks win I will continue to enjoy a libation while cheering for this almost ready team.
