Are you confused by the Vancouver Canucks?
If you aren’t perhaps you should be. After playing two of their worst games of the season in Dallas and Nashville, the team pulled out an incredibly gutsy win against the league’s top team in the standings. Not only did they win, but they did it during a morning game that isn’t their bread and butter.
The confusing Canucks were one topic on The Quickie last week.
Don’t Blame the Refs
Don't blame the refs, blame the system.

Kudos to MacKinnon for acknowledging that, but there was way too much ref bashing after Calvert's injury on Saturday.

There was way too much referee bashing after the Canucks scored with Mat Calvert lying on the ice. Sometimes the internet is fun, but sometimes it’s a cesspool of anger without logic.
Are the Maple Leafs F*cked?
Are the @MapleLeafs f*cked?

They've obviously been bad for a while recently, but @IneffectiveMath's tweet this morning really got me thinking about their playoff odds.
What's the biggest problem with the Leafs right now? I discuss it on The Quickie: https://t.co/toVRkzbLAE pic.twitter.com/rYE0ibaxJI
So I posted this on Tuesday morning after the Leafs sixth straight loss. Hours later Mike Babcock was fired. Kyle Dubas clearly loves himself a quickie.
Trotz for the Hart, Pulock for the Norris
The #Isles just continue to blow everyone away.
— Trevor Beggs (@TrevBeggs) November 20, 2019
Nevermind the Jack Adams for Barry Trotz. Give this guy the Hart.
Oh, and maybe give Ryan Pulock the Norris too.
I talk about those pesky Isles continuing to surprise on The Quickie: https://t.co/85F4MyM1Ub
The New York Islanders did lose 2-1 to the San Jose Sharks in overtime on Saturday, but they’re still unbeaten in their last 17 games.
Just give Barry Trotz the Hart, dammit.
Never Forget, Sens Fans
Wanted to give my Ottawa family some love because this might not happen again.

The #Sens have more wins than #LeafsForever
Ha ha. Laugh about it with me on The Quickie: https://t.co/wDSKcsPU1J pic.twitter.com/Uf2o3I9Gn8
Hey, the Sens and Leafs are still tied in wins as of writing, with the Sens playing two fewer games than the Maple Laughs.
I wouldn’t expect that to continue, but I talk about the good & the bad for those pesky Sens early in the season.
Confusing Canucks & Thank You Pacific
Kudos for the #Canucks for pulling off the win, but the last two games have arguably been their two worst of the season.

A quick take on the confusing circumstances plus some playoff positivity for the boys in blue on this episode of The Quickie: https://t.co/jvcgUmQ9vP pic.twitter.com/WTGiYvKEHb
After watching the Canucks on Thursday night, it was clear that, aside from their power play outburst, the Canucks played their second-straight stinker of the season. It was a bad sign for a team that, although they had been losing, they were still playing well and generating chances.
I also gave an ode to the Pacific for their mediocrity, although what Edmonton continues to do is quiet the story. At least the Oilers have a couple guys who can challenge Trotz for the Hart...
