The Canucks are celebrating Diwali Night tonight at Rogers Arena as they play host to the Washington Capitals. The Caps big story this year is the incredible start by D John Carlson, who currently leads the NHL in scoring. How big a deal is this? It’s pretty big.

And a little perspective?

He’s certainly helping my hockey pool out. The Caps are currently sitting 3rd overall, having dropped an overtime loss to the Oilers last night that would have vaulted them into 1st place with a win. With Carlson rolling, Alexander Ovechkin still being Ovi

and the rest of the team chugging along, it seems like the Caps are one of the early faves to make a run at the Cup this spring.

LINEUPS:

Looks like no changes for the Canucks apart from Oscar Fantenberg back practicing with the team. Jacob Markstrom will get the start in goal tonight for the Canucks.

Looks like the only change for the Caps will be in goal tonight:

PREGAME CHATTER:

We don’t usually do a ‘Keys To The Game’ kinda thing, but this seems like something that the Canucks should be aware of tonight:
