WASHINGTON 6 PITTSBURGH 3 (Capitals lead series 3-2)

Can this be the year that Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals defeat their nemesis, Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins? After heading into the 3rd period trailing a goal, the Caps came through with a huge final 20 and have the defending Champs on the brink of elimination with a 6-3 win.

WINNIPEG 6 NASHVILLE 2 (Jets lead series 3-2)

After getting fed their lunch in Game 4, the Jets needed some guys not named Mark Scheifele and Dustin Byfuglien to step up and they got just that from Kyle Connor. The rookie had 2 goals and an assist as the Jets blasted the Preds 6-2. Mathieu Perreault also scored in his return to the lineup. Game 6 is Monday in Winnipeg, and the Jets will have a chance to move onto the Conference Finals with a win.

BOSTON @ TAMPA BAY 3:00 EDT/12:00 PDT (CBC)

The Lightning have the Bruins on the ropes, and can finish them off here with a win at home in Game 5. Make excuses for Boston with their injuries if you wish, but the key here is they aren’t getting the kind of goaltending they need from Tuukka Rask and Tampa’s been far better defensively. And then we can all stop talking about Brad Marchand. Yay!

VEGAS @ SAN JOSE 7:30 EDT/4:30 PDT (CBC)

The Sharks need to win and force a Game 7 here to set the hockey world up for what will hopefully be the last game in Vegas til October. Seriously, this ain’t funny anymore. Go Shorks.
