Gamethread: Sedins last home game ever

The Canucks play the Coyotes tonight at Rogers Arena, in what will be the last home game for the Sedins. Bring your tissues.

The end of an era.

The score could be 8-0 Arizona tonight and it wouldn't matter. As long as I see one more Henrik pass to himself off the net and a Daniel between the legs drop pass that leads to a goal, i will be satisfied.

I haven't written a tribute as I have seen so many already, I think I would just be repeating what has already been said.

Let me relate my own Sedin stay for all of you tonight. In 2009 I was finally able to get NHL gamecenter in the God forsaken Latin American country. I hadn't been able to watch the Canucks consistently until then. Oct 1, 2009 was Vancouver's first game and it was against Calgary. It wasn't a pretty game as Calgary jumped out to 3-0 lead. In the second period though the Canucks went on a PP. The Sedins went to usual spots along the boards, passing to each other until Henrik fed it to Bieksa at the point and Kevin blew it by Kiprasoff. The Canucks lost that game, but the Sedins had my attention and you know what......I haven't stopped watching since. Henrik had 112 points and Daniel had 85 that year and you could see that the Canucks were so close to making the next step in the playoffs. I miss those years. I'm going to miss Sedinery next year, but it is time for the next generation to carry things.

Sit back, shed a tear, drink a beer, yell at the tv. Enjoy.
