THE ROUNDUP: Leafs Look Lost, Preds Are Squeaking By...

David Pastrnak is going to end the Leafs season unless they find an answer, and fast.

BOSTON 7 TORONTO 3 (Bruins lead series 2-0)

Remember how I said after Game 1 it couldn’t have gotten much worse? Well, it got worse. Boston’s top line of David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron are dismantling the hopes and dreams of Leafs fans, having now scored a combined 20 points in the 2 wins over the Leafs. Pastrnak had 6 points last night (3g 3a) and a series many predicted would be a lengthy battle now looks like a potential sweep because the Leafs simply have no answer for the Bruins relentless attack. How are they going to respond?

Awesome. Not as awesome as the Leafs fans going through all of the reactions they mocked Canucks fans for in 2011. But still...

TAMPA BAY 5 NEW JERSEY 3 (Lightning lead series 2-0)

After coming out of the period tied at 1, the Devils had to be feeling pretty good. So when the Lightning went on to score 4 in the 2nd, and chase Keith Kinkaid from the crease after surrendering 5 goals on 15 shots, you have to wonder if they can find a way to get back in this series. The good news is that the rest of the way Cory Schneider didn’t let a goal in, and will get the start in Game 3, one would assume. It wasn’t all good news for Tampa, as Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi both left the game with injuries. No word yet on their status for Game 3.

NASHVILLE 5 COLORADO 4 (Predators lead series 2-0)

Despite holding a 2 goal lead at three different points during the game, the Nashville Predators barely hung on to take a 5-4 win and move the series back to Denver with a 2-0 lead. The Avs kept clawing back but just couldn’t get the game tied again. Mattias Ekholm and PK Subban each had 2 assists, and Kevin Fiala had a goal and a helper in the victory.

SAN JOSE 3 ANAHEIM 2 (Sharks lead series 2-0)

The good news for the Ducks is they were able to score in the first minute of this game after being shutout in Game 1. The bad news is they still gave up 3 and head up to San Jose trailing this series 2-0. Logan Couture had a goal and set up the eventual winner from Tomas Hertl, which was a beauty.

Also, we saw that Corey Perry is back on his bullshit again.
