Tonight's game is just like that final, except both teams are on the opposite end of the standings. Yep, we both suck.
While the Canucks didn't do much this trade deadline, the Rangers auctioned off their team to the highest bidder. Ed Willes wrote a story today about how sad it is in the Rangers locker room. The rest of Vancouver media told the Rangers to stop acting like human beings, toughen up and win some games.
I agree it was a daring strategy by Rangers management to tell the fans and the players, "We suck, so we're going to gut this team and try again. The players and fans that stay will have to get used to losing until the young, inexperienced players figure out how to win." There is something to be said for brutal honesty.
Maybe the Canucks can steal one from this mopey team.
