Both teams come into this one having won their last games. The Canucks survived a first period onslaught from the St Louis Blues and then cruised to a 5-1 win, while the Jets got outplayed pretty much all night, and still walked out with a 5-3 win over the San Jose Sharks.
In a way, the Canucks and Jets share a similar trait: both teams have been finding ways to win this season. Obviously the Jets have been much better, but the Canucks are showing signs, especially with the youngsters on the team, that the future is going to be bright.
This has been a pretty decent homestand for the Canucks, going 3-1 with just the blemish of Tuesday’s loss to Tampa on their record over the 4 games, and they’d love to finish it up with a win before the 6 game Eastern swing (that starts off with visits against both Alberta rivals) after the Christmas break.
We’ll be pretty quiet over the next couple days as we spend time with family and friends, but on behalf of all of us here at Nucks Misconduct, we would like to wish you and yours a happy and safe holiday season, and thank you for being part of our little corner of the internets. Enjoy the game tonight and make sure to join us Boxing Day as we will have game threads for all of Team Canada’s games at the World Juniors in Vancouver and Victoria (and we’ll be keeping an eye on Quinn Hughes with the USA) and maybe the Spengler Cup (which has 5 former Canucks on the roster including Kevin Bieksa and Maxim Lapierre).
Merry Christmas. Go Coconuts Go!
