Game Preview #15: Canucks vs Avs

The Canucks meet another Central division foe while trying to fight off the injury fairies.

The Canucks keep surprising the crap out me. I’m serious. Different players every night stepping up and leading the Canucks to a victory I never saw coming. Coach Green talks about a day by day mentality and how the Canucks need to get ready for their opponent tonight.

One thing that has been consistent has been EP. Mr. Rookie of the month with 7 goals and 3 assists in 8 games, has not only been good in the offensive zone, but is on his way to being a great 200 foot player.

Tonight’s guest, Colorado, has one of the best forward lines in the league with Landeskog, MacKinnon and Rantanen combining for 33 points at even strength. Colorado has their PP going at a 25% pace and their PK is top 3 in the league. The Avs took 2 out of 3 from the Nucks last year, and all games had a lot of goals. The Avs are coming off a loss to the Pacific leading Calgary Flames last night 6-5. (I felt dirty typing that).

Jalen Chatfield was called up which made me wonder if Stetcher was in any condition to play, but then Troy was at practice yesterday. I’m confused.

I doubt we see any big changes from the last game, except maybe Jake plays every minute of the game so people can type “shotgun” on Twitter all night long. Sometimes I hate the internet.

I’m not one usually for song of the day...so I’ll leave you with this.
