Saturday night hockey against one of the best teams in the league is not a bad way to spend the night. The Canucks come into tonight’s contest in second place in the Pacific. The Penguins are second place in their division. They both have 12 points. Of course the Penguins have done it in 3 less games, but who cares. The Canucks have taken 3 of the last 4 games from the flightless birds.
The Canucks are still limping coming into tonight’s game.
.@sportsnetmurph: Edler will have an MRI today. The body language wasn't great & in speaking with him he didn't feel optimistic about what it might find but will have to wait for an official diagnosis.— Sportsnet 650 (@Sportsnet650) October 26, 2018
But there might be some good news.
Corey Hirsch: Im hearing that Boeser, Pettersson and Tanev are probable for the #Canucks tomorrow against the Penguins— Sportsnet 650 (@Sportsnet650) October 27, 2018
I’ll say this, I have been a vocal Edler critic over the years and he has taken some very stupid penalties this year, but he is still the top pairing guy on this team. Nobody but Tanev, has played better in all areas. And without Edler, that means Guds has to do more...and Pouliot...sweet lord. I’m not Pouliot should be within 10 feet of the ice tonight.
If Pettersson and Brock are back, I look forward to a better PP. The PK has bene good but the PP last game with almost all the top guys missing, was sad. The Canucks would be welled served to stay out of the box today as the Penguins PP is outstanding. The Canucks are coming off beating down the Flames 9-1. Yikes.
Let’s hope the Canucks are ready to face a team that has found it’s wheels and scoring touch again.
