Preview & Gamethread: Canucks vs Blue Jackets

Game five of the eastern road trip from hell.

Russell LaBounty-USA TODAY Sports

The Canucks come into today's game 29th in the league. That equals 5th pick overall. Some will argue with me and talk about a small chance of a higher pick but those Pollyanna's need to recall the history of the Canucks and the draft lottery.

It's kind of sad that I'm talking about June already and there's lots of hockey left. The year started so well.

The competition tonight, Columbus, is coming off a 3-1 loss to Buffalo so there is hope that the Canucks can beat this well-coached Torts team. Wait...what did I just say? I didn't mean that. Their PP is 30th overall and their PK is 21st. So if there are no penalties in this game, it's a definite loss for the Canucks. Crap, then I find this and don't know what to think.

This eastern road trip is the opposite of the first one. This trip killed once and for all any talk of playoffs and has the media talking trade deadline. Enjoy the last few games of Guds.
