The Vancouver Canucks host the New York Islanders in this the second game of a five-game home stand. The Islanders come to town holding the second Wild Card playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, one point up on Toronto and three points clear of Philadelphia. Interim coach Doug Weight is on the verge of rescuing the Islanders’ season. Recent call-up Josh Ho-Sang has a goal and a cool uniform number that is offending humorless hockey writers all over North America.
Vancouver is coming off a tough-luck overtime loss to Montreal on Tuesday. Nikolay Goldobin is out tonight with the flu (or is it the mumps) so Reid Boucher draws on to the second line with Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi. Alex Biega will play as a 12th forward and Nikita Tryamkin may draw back in on D. Ryan Miller gets the start with Jacob Markstrom still out.
Enjoy the game, everyone. Coconuts go!
