Tonight we’ll take a look at the best and worst things about the Ducks and their illustrious history!
Best- Named after a movie! A hockey team owned by Disney at the same time that the entertainment conglomerate has a movie about hockey come out? Sounds like a match made in heaven!
Worst- Short history, have won Cups. The 2007 Anaheim hockey squadron was loaded with veteran and young talent, and picked up the organization’s lone Cup win. We probably would have won that year, but we let the Ducks have that year (that’s the type of thing I tell myself to be able to sleep at night).
Best- Teemu Selanne! The Finnish Flash arrived in Southern California in 1996 and tore up the NHL until his departure to San Jose in 2001. He took 5 years to see what the home dressing rooms in Denver and San Jose were like before returning to Anaheim to complete his illustrious career. It’s no surprise that Flash and his 684 goals and 1457 points was celebrated as one of hockey’s 100 greatest players at this year’s All-Star festivities.
Worst- D-baggery Galore! It’s kinda like the old adage of ‘who’d you rather fight: one horse sized duck or 10 duck sized horses’. Is one Brad Marchand make a hockey team more hate-able than a team with Corey Perry, Ryan Kesler, Ryan Getzlaf, and Kevin Bieksa? Even though we have great memories of the 2 former Canucks just mentioned, you have to admit, they were kinda jerks!!
Still a few more games to suffer through play out, hopefully the boys can bring another ‘real good’ effort and maybe another win against a playoff bound team tonight!
Go Coconuts Go!
