So with Markus Granlund gone, it can't get much worse, right? Add two more possible injuries to the list. Jayson Megna is out for at least the duration of this road swing, and Joseph Cramarossa was not at practice yesterday, leading to speculation he'll be out tonight against the Blues.
There is a bright side to all this, dare I say a golden one? That's right, Nikolay Goldobin is back in the lineup and will play against St Louis. Sure, it took Willie D's own personal Golden Child getting hurt to get him back in, but we know the kid will be pumped and ready to show he is going to be a big part of the rebuilding process next season.
THE OPPOSITION
This is a big game for the Blues. A win combined with an Nashville loss to the Flames will leave St Louis 2 points up for 3rd place in the Central Division. Not too bad for a team that looked like they might miss the post-season a couple months ago. Amazing what can happen sometimes when you can see your coach is not getting the job done and you send him on his way. Mike Yeo has his charges playing well, and they're 7-3-0 in their last 10.
THE CANUCKS
So with the news that Megna and Cramarossa are lost for at least part of this road swing, it means that Willie will be forced to #PTK even more than he likely wanted to. Goldobin will be on Brandon Sutter's line tonight, perhaps ensuring he keeps a focus on 2 way play, while also preventing him from doing anything crazy like using the insane talent he's shown glimpses of so far.
#Canucks Desjardins says he expects Markstrom to join the team to practice tomorrow and that Megna may not be as bad as originally thought
