After a home stand to forget, the Canucks head out to visit the Oilers. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Tonight the Canucks are playing one of the NHL’s leading scorers and plausibly a Hart trophy finalist. Over the past couple of weeks we’ve seen Sidney Crosby, Brad Marchand, Evgeni Malkin, and now that Young Mc-something or rather. Number 97 is tied with the Rat for the league lead in points (although Marchand has more goals and therefore is ‘leading’ the scoring race) with 79.
There’s a chinook ripping through Alberta right now and the temperature in Edmonton is an abnormal +10. Hopefully the conditions don’t make the Canucks feel as though they are playing at home.
