NHL Trade Deadline: Welcome to the rebuild Joseph Cramarossa

With a last name like that, he’s gotta be...a human being.

NHL: Anaheim Ducks at Minnesota Wild Marilyn Indahl-USA TODAY Sports

With Burrows and Hansen out the door, and nothing (if anything) moving on the Miller front, this deadline day for Vancouver fans could come down to some minor moves and, lucky you, ol’ Jim went shopping on the waiver wires for just that.

Everyone: meet Joe Cramarossa. Joe: welcome to the rebuild.

Drafted in the 3rd round - 65th overall - in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft (did anything happen in 2011? Nah) by the Anaheim whatevers, the CramMan has bounced around the OHL and AHL until finally getting some regular(ish) time on the 4th line this season following a good training camp.

If you’d like to play the keywords game, all of the following have been attributed to the young left winger: perseverance, crash and bang, and less likely to be moved at the deadline (opps).

If you’re interested in who he’s punched in the face this year, good news, Steve Ott is on the list.

If you’re interested in knowing if he can play cornhole, it’s called bean bag thank you very much.

If you’re interested in seeing Kevin Bieksa tap him on the head a couple times, you’re welcome.

For a Vancouver team that will be tossing the kids into the fray for the next six weeks, we’re likely to see plenty of what he brings to that table in short order. Also, following the most NHL success he’s had to date this season, he’ll likely show up with every intention of sticking around to what should be a fun and spirited Vancouver training camp in September.
