I Am A Leaf On The Wind, Watch How I Soar: Canucks @ Kings

Screw logic: Vancouver looks to pull an improbable four points out of two games against playoff-bound California teams.

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

T-minus 18 games to go...

Vancouver is 48 hours removed from shocking the Sharks on their ice who may have been bored beating up on the Canucks earlier in the week.

Of course it wouldn't be one step forward for this team without slipping three or four back: Henrik Sedin (upper body) and Chris Tanev (upper body) join Hansen, Sutter and Edler on the shelf. It'll be a kid-riffic Monday night against a Cup-caliber opponent, what could possibly got wrong?

Speaking of wrong...

Get involved kids.

Human Guinea Pig Formations

Daniel Sedin - Linden Vey - Emerson Etem

Sven Baertschi - Markus Granlund - Jake Virtanen

Brendan Gaunce- Bo Horvat - Derek Dorsett

Dan Hamhuis - Yannick Weber

Ben Hutton - Luca Sbisa

Matt Bartkowski - Alex Biega

Ryan Miller

Milan Lucic - Anze Kopitar - Tyler Toffoli

Dwight King - Jeff Carter - Dustin Brown

Tanner Pearson - Vincent Lecavalier - Trevor Lewis

Kyle Clifford - Nick Shore - Kris Versteeg

Rob Scuderi - Drew Doughty

Jake Muzzin - Alec Martinez

Brayden McNabb - Luke Schenn

It's like a NHL vs AHL team. Ryan Miller is going to lose his mind.

One Question

Lucic has the plum job of playing alongside Kopitar and only has 15 goals. Hansen has 19 alongside the Sedins. Lucic and Hansen have similar OZS% (57.8% to 57% respectively). Baertschi has 13 markers and sports a OZS% of 48.5%. Even Vrbata has 12 goals and no one in the league wanted to touch him even at a considerable discount. So remind me again why some Vancouver fans still dream of signing Lucic north of $5 million a season this summer?

One Observation

Don't adjust your feeds, the Kings will be looking like Grimace tonight.

Fearless Prediction

Down their top center and missing their top shutdown pairing against a group like Los Angeles doesn't bode well. Maybe the PP will come alive again, but lighting rarely strikes twice. 4-2 Kings.

Dare to dream.
