Late Afternoon Links: Return of the Links Edition

New, comments

After a post trade deadline break, during which all the links seemed to mock the Canucks' inaction, I'm back with more news and notes from Vancouver and around the hockey world.

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

The Vancouver Canucks skated this morning before flying out to spend St. Patrick's Day in Edmonton. Who says being a professional athlete is all glamour?

Injury woes show little sign of letting up here near the end of the season.

Alexandre Grenier practiced with the Sedins this morning, and looks to line up with them again tomorrow night. Here are all of Willie Desjardins post-practise comments:

It's nearing the end of both the CHL and the NCAA hockey seasons. That means it's awards time, and some Canucks prospects have earned recognition.

Thatcher Demko was named a finalist for the Richter Award, given to the top goalie in college hockey. You can help Demko win this year's Hobey Baker award. Follow proud poppa Brenton Demko's directions below:

While the NCAA Men's and Women's basketball tournaments are getting headlines and hype (How 'bout them Yalies?), the men's conference finals and men's and women's Frozen Four competitions are coming soon. SB Nation's college hockey blog is a great place to keep on top of the games and the prospects. Here is their preview of the women's Frozen Four.

Hockey's Future writer Glen Erickson spoke with Tate Olson recently.

Coach Willie complimented Sven Baertschi's passion and competitiveness after the game last night. That's a real credit to Baertschi. He sure ain't the player he used to be, is he Brian Burke?

Puck Daddy's Ryan Lambert give four piles of bullshit (out of a possible five) to rumors of a Milan Lucic sweepstakes on July 1. It seems more and more likely Los Angeles will find a way to keep Lucic.

Critics of Alain Vigneault's coaching in New York are becoming ever more assertive. At issue is one Tanner Glass.

Emerson Etem is in the latest Canucks in Cars video. Enjoy.
