Here we are friends: 21 games until we can take this Fredo of a hockey season quietly out onto the foggy lake, tell him he broke our heart and then shoot it in the f'ing head.
Following the aftermath of the quiet deadline - one where Vancouver was a clear loser - there aren't many thinking this team can successfully take a run at either the post season or the first overall pick this summer. So, instead, we're relegated to an all too familiar position: stuck in hockey purgatory with a heavy dose of unnecessary drama.
So glass half full: we should get a great look at the rookies in the next six weeks. Glass half empty: that'll come at the the potential expense of a Burrows or Vrbahahahaha. Glass half full: the final six weeks should give the team's braintrust (you decide what that is) a good view of what this summer's pressing needs are, both at the draft and when the UFA period kicks off. Glass half empty: there's no strong management track record heading into this summer to hang you faithful hat on.
My logic has always been if you don't like something, vote with your wallet. That seems to be already in motion:
Good on ya Vancouver.

1. Welcome to the team full time Mr. McCann. Now will the 'stache use him properly?
2. Mr. Granlund is your new 2LC (pause for laughter)...can he and Baertschi find their AHL magic together at the NHL level?
