Holy quirky schedule! Having not seen the San Jose Sharks yet this season, the Canucks are set for a steady diet of Shark in the final stretch. San Jose currently sits in 3rd place in the Pacific with 70 points. But they are only 5-3-2 in their last ten games, and they're coming off a classic trap game loss, 3-1 to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday. Doug Wilson might be done deadline shopping after two trips to strip the bloated corpse that is the Toronto Maple Leafs. On Monday, they acquired Roman Polak and Nick Spaling for two second round picks and Raffi Torres contract. Yesterday, the Sharks sent Alex Stalock, Ben Smith and a conditional fourth round pick to Toronto for James Reimer and Jeremy Morin.
Even after two straight wins, the Canucks are 8 points out of a Wild-Card playoff spot, though they have four games in hand on the Colorado Avalanche and three in hand on the Nashville Predators. Despite that, the Canucks actual playoff chances still remain grim.
Dallas working on a d-man. Hamhuis still an option, although things have cooled a bit there. Kris Russell also high on Stars list.— Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) February 28, 2016
