It's been a big part of my recovery, and for many others as well. Bell's Let's Talk Day initiative has been raising not just money but awareness, to help break down the stigmas and stereotypes surrounding mental illness. I am going to include some tweets I made this morning, and then turn the floor over to anyone who wants to share their stories, ask questions or just show their support. I want to say thank you Yankee and Zandberg for all of their support they've shown over the years, being so gracious and understanding when I needed to take time to deal with things. You guys rock.
#BellLetsTalk day is special, because it helped me talk about my depression openly, and to begin my recovery.

#BellLetsTalk One thing that I need to do today, is acknowledge two people who didn't know they helped me during my depression

#BellLetsTalk When I was able to cover the 2011 Finals for @nucksmisconduct, I was severely depressed and on a number of medications

#BellLetsTalk the anxiety was so bad I had to duck into the bathroom more than once, crying because I was just feeling so overwhelmed

#BellLetsTalk 'What the hell am I doing here? I'm just some dumb blogger' I thought to myself, and it felt like everyone was thinking that
— Kent Basky (@KentGBasky) January 27, 2016
#BellLetsTalk But there were two people there who took the time to talk to me, not like 'some dumb blogger' but like I belonged there

#BellLetsTalk A little thing, but it gave me the strength to get through it all. So thank you, @botchford and @tonygallagher

#BellLetsTalk It's something I should have done sooner, but haven't forgotten.

#BellLetsTalk Today, I am much better than I was. Off meds, and as I had been all along managing day to day with @LaurieWoolyUke
