It begins... And man are there some interesting combinations as training camp starts in Prince George today. Ronalds Kenins shuffled to the first line with the Sedins is a bit of a surprise, and the Burrows/Cassels/Virtanen line is, if it were to be an actual thing, be so hated in Edmonton that you could measure the hate physically like the river of slime in Ghostbusters. The Baertschi/Sutter/Vrbata line could be something we see once October rolls around, and the speed and hands that combination could bring if they gel should have you a little excited.

Some other interesting news this morning out of camp is the arrival of former Canuck Scott Walker, brought in by GM Trevor Linden to help out, though his role is not exactly clear yet, I am sure we'll get some kind of confirmation later today, but Dan Murphy probably has it right here:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Guessing Walker&#39;s role would have to be player development (ala Ryan Johnson). Will ask Linden when we see him. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Canucks?src=hash">#Canucks</a></p>&mdash; Dan Murphy (@sportsnetmurph) <a href="https://twitter.com/sportsnetmurph/status/644894784272764928">September 18, 2015</a></blockquote>

Alright... grab your morning beverage of choice and get ready, here's your morning links:

Optimism: They has it. Is it warranted? Jason Botchford with some truth for you all.

- Meanwhile, one of the newest Canucks, Brandon Sutter thinks that the Canucks are a much better fit than his previous clubs.

- In case you missed it earlier this week, our pals at Pass It To Bulis debuted at their new home over at the Vancouver Courier. We're happy to have them  back. PITB's Daniel Wagner thinks it should be Jannik Hansen on the 1st line with the Sedins to start the season...

- It wouldn't be a Canucks camp without massive goaltender speculation, right? The pressure is on Jacob Markstromto show he can play at this level.

There's a lot going on around the league this morning, so we are going to have to be choosy or I will be here all day posting links for you. Here's the most noteworthy stuff:

- The Chicago Black Hawks are just completely and utterly tone-deaf.

Patrick Kane helped prove that hockey fans have no moral high ground whatsoever to judge other sports. The only question that needs to be asked is this:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Here&#39;s a hockey-related question for Patrick Kane: How the hell are you being allowed to play hockey right now?</p>&mdash; Jesse Spector (@jessespector) <a href="https://twitter.com/jessespector/status/644910646300155904">September 18, 2015</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

- While we're on the topic of scumbags, the LA Kings get to sweep all that nastiness away, as Slava Voynov oozes back to Russia...

And now onto stuff about human beings that hopefully aren't the scum of the earth...

- Max Pacioretty is the new captain of the Montreal Canadiens...

- The Sharks posted their player photos today, and you know what that means, right? New Brent Burns evolution pic!

- You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

- Zac Rinaldo and the Boston Bruins, ladies and gentlemen...

- The key to marketing the upcoming season is understanding your fan base...

We'll have more coverage and breaking news as always, as well as a preview of the opening of the exhibition schedule Monday with the Kraft Hockeyville game here in Colwood at the Q Center, and in case you missed it, Nucks Misconduct is going to be there giving you up close coverage of the Canucks, the Sharks and we're gonna try to get within 50 feet of Don Cherry!
