We are now down to the final 4, at long last! The first contest of the semis goes down like this:
1. Shawn Matthias started catching fire in November. He was finally getting the whole: 'you're a big and fast player-so drive to the net and good things will happen' concept. He didn't continue this progression all that consistently as the season went on (until January came along) . However, when he was rolling, this was definitely his best Glenn Anderson / Todd Bertuzzi impression, and his best-looking goal, on Remembrance Day:
Funny that Sens goalie Craig Anderson will make 2 appearances in the final four, and not for good reasons, hey Craig? Go find an ice girl to console yourself.
2. Another player making two appearances in the final four is Mr. Nick Bonino. This particular goal is not the spinorama goal. Nope, this is the Vrbata alley-oop pass to Bonino against the Kings on March 21...I have never seen anything quite like it:
You are in tough in this bracket, Matthias. This Vrbata-Bonino combo goal was better than the quarter-pounder with cheese and fries! Or, the grandpa burger with poutine fries? To each their own.
