Here's the footage of the incident with Miller and Hansen:
If that's not a hyper-extension of the leg...Doesn't feel very good. Miller is projected to miss 4-6 weeks, maybe longer, so the Canucks recalled Jacob Markstrom today.
Markstrom has a 17-7-2 record with the Comets this season, along with a 1.95 goals against average (2nd in the AHL) and a .932 save percentage (3rd in the AHL) and 4 shutouts. He's a big dude (6'6", 200 pounds).
After Roberto Luongo was traded last season I was content to go with the Lack/Markstrom combo. It didn't pan out so well as not just the goaltenders, but the whole team floundered to finish out the season. This time around I'm excited. It's a different team with a different coach and we now have 2 goalies pushing each other for playing time who are likely better now than then. I don't foresee a problem down the stretch without Miller.
You?
