Game Day Coffee- Oct 16/15

New, comments

A couple days of rest and recovery behind them, the Canucks welcome the St Louis Blues tonight as they kickoff a 5 game homestand.

The Canucks are off to their best start since 1999-00, and they look to keep that going tonight as they take on the St Louis Blues at Rogers Arena. The Blues were in Edmonton last to help officially kickoff the biggest backpedal we've seen since last year when NHL media were forced to admit they were wrong about the Canucks finishing at or near the bottom of the league. We'll talk more about those Oilers and the lunacy of some of these predictions this weekend before the Canucks take on Connor McWhatshisface on Sunday night.

St Louis is part of that massive Central Division log jam, and if there's any Division that's a toss up this year, it's gotta be the Central. There's so many damn good teams there, you may as well make predictions by names in a hat, you might just be more successful. The Blues have a few new faces on their roster for this season, adding veterans Scottie Upshall and Troy Brouwer (who is currently tied with Alex Steen and Vladimir Tarasenko for the team scoring lead), and rookie Colton Parayko scored twice against Calgary the other night. With Brian Elliott getting the call last night in Edmonton, we can expect Jake Allen between the pipes for the Blues tonight, while Ryan Miller will get the call once again for the Canucks.

Lots of links for you this morning, so grab a plate and dig in:
