Welcome back to NHL hockey!

We've seen a lot of change over the last 6 months. Kesler got traded, Gillis and Torts got the boot, Benning and Linden came in, and Willie Desjardins got hired on. There's also all the new players, whether they be Canucks draftees finally ready to crack the lineup or proven veterans coming from another team. We've been waiting all summer to see how it works out, and we will start seeing a couple answers tonight!

A Vancouver tradition in years past is opening up the preseason with split squad games on the same night. This year, we get the Sharks.

GAME 1

Game location: Rogers Arena, Vancouver

Puck drop: 6:00pm PST

Where to watch/listen: Sportsnet 360, TSN1040 (did Team get bought out?)

For this game, we will get to see Radim Vrbata on the Sedin line, Bo Horvat, Hunter Shinkaruk, and Jordan Subban. Eddie Lack will likely be in net, with Joe Cannata as his backup.

GAME 2

Game location: Stockton Arena, Stockton (California, in case you didn't know)

Puck drop: 7:30pm PST

Where to watch/listen: TBA

This game will have Nick Bonino with Burrows and Kassian, Brendan Gaunce, Nicklas Jensen, and a very young defense group lead by Yannick Weber and Christopher Tanev. Jacob Markstrom will likely tend goal, with Joacim Eriksson as backup.

Notables getting the night off include Ryan Miller and Ryan Stanton.
