Just a few pieces of news from around the NHL.

It seems like there's a lot of things happening in and around hockey as we finally begin to see the beginning of training camp.

The Ryan Johansen situation with the Columbus Blue Jackets is getting some kind of nasty.  President John Davidson opened up to the media with regards to term and dollar values being offered to Ryan Johansen.  Could this be the opportunity for another team to step in and add the 22 year old center who's coming off of a 33 goal season? TSN is trying to keep up with the Toronto Maple Leafs by creating their own hockey analytics department by adding former hockeybuzz writer Travis Yost to it's current stable. tsn.ca

Josh Harding can't buy a break.  I have the utmost respect for Harding and his relentless battle with MS, but he's suffered a fractured foot that some are speculating to keep him out of the lineup for several months. This is coming on the heels of Harding missing the entire second half of last season with a medical issue related to MS.  Apparently the Wild don't like the idea of Backstrom and Kuemper (who's unsigned ATM) and have invited the eclectic Ilya Bryzgalov to training camp. thescore

San Jose wrapped up Justin Braun to a 5 year contract worth 19 million.  Seems reasonable... Someone email Tanev this link! USA Today

The Edmonton Oilers have finally made it official, they are going to become figure skaters!  The team announced today that they have hired David Pelletier as a skating coach.  Pelletier has been a power skating coach with the Canadian Women's hockey team as well as several other pro and amateur hockey players CTV Edmonton

SMH moment: 18 year old Flames prospect Sam Bennett says that the only comparison he can think of for 21 year old Johnny Gaudreau is 17 year old Connor McDavid... Should that even be a comparable?  frozenfutures

Get ready to hear this in every rink, every night from now until 2016... You've been warned!
