A Fox once saw a Crow fly off with a piece of cheese in its beak and settle on a branch of a tree.
"That's for me, as I am a Fox," said Master Reynard, and he walked up to the foot of the tree.
"Good day, Mistress Crow," he cried. "How well you are looking today: how glossy your feathers; how bright your eye. I feel sure your voice must surpass that of other birds, just as your figure does; let me hear but one song from you that I may greet you as the Queen of Birds."
The Crow lifted up her head and began to caw her best, but the moment she opened her mouth the piece of cheese fell to the ground, only to be snapped up by Master Fox.
"That will do," said he. "That was all I wanted. In exchange for your cheese I will give you a piece of advice for the future: "Do not trust flatterers."
...Have I mentioned how awesome you all are today? No? Now you know why.
- 4:00 PM PT - Free-Ranged Vigneaults against the brotherly baffled Berubes. This isn't a case of the Rangers being dominant as much as it is the Flyers, collectively, falling flat on their stupid faces. Perhaps Mason can make a difference? Perhaps scoring can make a difference? Perhaps don't make Carcillo look like the second coming of Cam Neely can make a difference? I don't know, pick one.
- 5:00 PM PT - Queen for a day Quenneville against Sir Kenneth Hitchcock's lapband. The Blues have pissed away their series lead and the Hawks (*spits*) are starting to get that annoying confidence thing while playing without one of their headhunters. Thankfully there's still plenty of hockey left for these two to display their utter contempt for each for our shared amusement.
- 7:30 PM PT - Ruffian's Rummage Sale against Boudreau's Facepalming Tour 2014 (sponsored by Pizza Hut). The Selanne-scratching Ducks have also pissed their series lead away. Far be it for me to be armchair coach, but put the damn old man in and let him find his inner Trevor Linden to put the Stars away. Or not. Whoever survives this round is getting slaughtered in the next one anyway. MOAR PAIN EQUALS MOAR PLEASURE.
