Daniel Sedin Released From Hospital

Daniel Sedin is in the hospital after being hit in the numbers by Flames' Paul Byron. Daniel's head struck the stanchion right after contact. He made little movement after hitting the ice and looked somewhat knocked unconscious. After being attended to for several minutes by medical personnel, he was stretchered off the ice in front of a shocked crowd at Rogers Arena. He was then taken to the hospital where he was described as "being able to move his extremities".

It did not appear to be a dirty hit, just a risky play by Byron, who was given a 5-minute penalty for boarding and a game misconduct.
