Canucks visit the Stars.

I bet the Stork knows how to let it go.

Enemy territory: Defending Big D

We have a problem. I am an optimist who is surrounded by a heaping load of pessimism lately. With Roberto Luongo gone, and Eddie Lack taking the helm, I am watching so many people saying we should blow up the team at the 2014 draft, for which we should be targetting a top 8 pick. Are you guys for real? I have seen darker times than this for the team, and yet I still have hope for this season!

Remember how missing the 2006 playoffs came down to a SINGLE game? We had Alex Auld in our net that year, the WCE line was dead, and the Sedins were still on the 2nd line!!! Remember how the Kings barely squeezed into the playoffs in 2012, only to end up winning the Cup? They had to go 10-4-2 in March and April just to make it into that playoff spot! The Canucks have 18 games left in this season, they are only 2 bloody points out of a wild card spot right now, and you guys are already writing off the season? Once again, are you guys for real???

Do things look bad? Of course they do! But as long as there is a statistical chance of the Canucks making the playoffs, I refuse to write off the idea of celebrating my June birthday by going to a Stanley Cup Final game IN VANCOUVER. You can't take that away from me. As Elsa sings in Frozen (check out the clip below, this song just won a bloody Oscar!!!), "I don't care what they're going to say, Let the storm rage on, The cold never bothered me anyway!"

Okay, rant over. Canucks are in Dallas tonight, and Kari Lehtonen is expected in the Stars crease. They did acquire Tim Thomas yesterday, but he is expected to begin as a back-up to put pressure on Kari.

Coconuts go!
