-The Canucks have 7 games remaining. Two of those games are against the Ducks, a team that has owned Vancouver this season. Anaheim has a 3-0 record vs the Canucks, and the last meeting stood out the most: a 9-1 drubbing back in January.

-The Canucks still have to win out the season to make the playoffs. Going 3-0-1 in their last 4 games is worthy of a salute. Beating the Ducks will be worthy of a standing O and a celebratory drunk! Am I right?

-The Canucks trail Phoenix by 5 points. The Coyotes have a game in hand. Phoenix plays 7th place (and slumping) Minnesota on Saturday night. The 9th-place Stars banged the Preds 7-3 Friday night, trail the Stars by 3 points, and have 2 games in hand on the Canucks. Dallas plays the Blues Saturday night.

NO JUICE?

It appears as though Kevin Bieksa will not play against the Ducks after seemingly twisting his ankle against the Avalanche last game. The Canucks recalled Frank Corrado on Friday to replace him. What kind of a curse surrounds this team anyway?

Wait a minute...

Still not a guarantee he'll play.

YOU MADE MY SHITLIST

-Jason Garrison: 0 points in 7 games.

-Ryan Stanton: 0 goals and 1 assist 16 games.

RED HOT

-Zack Kassian: 2 goals and 4 assists in his last 3 games. He's on fire!

-Brad Richardson: 1 goal and 2 assists in his last 3 games.

-David Booth: 3 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 games! Oh my! Sign him to an extension! (No don't)

-Daniel Sedin has a goal and an assist in his last 2 games.

KNOW YOUR ENEMY

-A bit surprised that the Ducks have played around .500 hockey over their last 10 games (4-4-2). But they remain 3rd in the Conference because they kicked so much ass in October - December (29-8-5).

The Oilers did this to the Quacks Friday night:

-I noticed that the Ducks are 20th in both the power play and penalty kill this season. Surprising. Good thing Matchsticks and Gasoline's Kevin Krazkowski asked Anahein Calling about that recently. AC's response:

Special teams are a sore subject around our fanbase, hah. The PK has struggled more of late as Boudreau has tried to lessen the minutes of his big guys, who were playing in all situations earlier in the year to better success. There's no reason to put Ryan Getzlaf or Corey Perry out there for a minute at this stage in the season, after all. But not playing them has produced some dicey results.

The PP struggles are probably a result of a couple things. First, he team hasn't been shooting as much with the advantage. A lot of this stems from lacking a really strong point presence, as opposing PKs don't close lanes to challenge the shot, which forces guys to create lanes in isolation on the half-boards or down low. Second, Boudreau has tried to keep Selanne in a prime position to get easy points from his usual low left position, but his wrists are just not what they used to be. As such, PKs have let him more or less alone and have shut down Getzlaf and Perry. Boudreau has very recently thrown some Selanne-less units out to massive success--look for Patrick Maroon and Matheiu Perreault to get some PP time, and when that happens, look out.

ROSTERS

Ducks projected roster here.

I expect we'll see Frederik Andersen in goal for the Ducks. He has a 16-5-0 record this season, 2.26 GAA and a .924 save %.

Canucks projected roster here.

Of course, the Canucks will start Eddie Lack, who has a 15-14-5 record, 2.34 GAA and .915 save %

Speaking of Eddie:

Awesome!
