Canucks snap Sharks' home winning streak with 3-1 win

Editor's Note: I was unable to watch tonight's game, but I've posted videos of Vancouver's goals, and you can lead the discussion in the comments.

Bo Horvat, Jannik Hansen and Radim Vrbata each scored for the Canucks, and Ryan Miller didn't allow a "normal" goal (just a penalty shot in the second period) as he made 31 saves on the night. The win for the Canucks snapped San Jose's 8-game home winning streak as Miller improved to 9-1-1 in his career against the Sharks, defeating them for the second time this season. Fun side note: San Jose's penalty shot goal was their first in five years to the date. On to the scoring!

1st Period - 3:08 - Goal: Bo Horvat (2) ASST: Derek Dorsett (8), Ryan Stanton (4) - 1-0 VAN

Get the puck to the net and good things happen.

2nd Period - 3:05 - GOAL: Jannik Hansen (9) ASST: Alex Edler (8), Brad Richardson (10) - 2-0 VAN

Jannik Hansen bursts out of the penalty box and SCORES ON A BREAKAWAY. It's like a delayed Christmas miracle. I also love the disgusted look on Todd McLellan's face.

2nd Period - 7:09 - GOAL: Radim Vrbata (14) ASST: Henrik Sedin (24), Daniel Sedin (23) - 3-1 VAN

After Joe Thornton's penalty shot, the Sharks were knocking on the door. We all know how we feel about those 2-0 leads. Radim Vrbata stepped up to snipe in a shot to build Vancouver's lead up to two goals.

The Canucks improved to 21-11-3 on the year to close out 2014. They're back in action on Thursday night when they face the Los Angeles Kings at Rogers Arena. Here are your full game highlights. Happy new year, everyone!
