GAME DAY- World U20 Championships: Canada vs Germany

It didn't take long for Canada to score in last night's game against the Slovaks, and when they did, the results were often highlight reel goals as they cruised to an 8-0 victory. Winnipeg Jets prospect Eric Comrie will get the start in goal as the Canadians look to go 2-0 with a win over Germany.

It wasn't pretty for the Slovakians, as they simply had no answer for the Canadian attack last night, but that's not to say there weren't things for Team Canada to work on. The power play should have feasted last night, yet it came up empty handed in their opportunities with the man-advantage. Defensively, they were air tight, and Zack Fucale had to stop only 12 shots to get the shutout.

The big story was Robby Fabbri, absolutely dominant with 2 goals and 2 assists. Nic Petan had a goal and two helpers, and 4 others, including Canucks prospect Jake Virtanen had a goal and an assist. Some expressed concern that we saw very little from Connor McDavid, but with a game high 6 SOG, he's simply too talented to not end up scoring soon. He's just coming back from injury, I am sure he'll be just fine. Expect the Canadians to roll again tonight.
