KNOW YOUR ENEMY

The Preds are doing well, and it's hardly a surprise to me at all. They axed their long time (and only coach) Barry Trotz and replaced him with Peter Laviolette, who preaches a more up-tempo game. Ring a bell?

Then they had one of the busiest off seasons and acquired guys like Mike Ribeiro, James Neal, Derek Roy, Olli Jokinen (ahahaha, seriously), and they finally spent money and added depth up front which they have rarely ever had. What the hell took them so long to do so? Cheap management. They sure as hell can churn out defencemen and goaltenders at the Draft though! Speaking of that, look out for that Filip Forsberg kid tonight. He's really coming along.

Anyway, the point is, this should be a different Preds team than we have grown accustomed to seeing. Laviolette does preach defence too, as you can see by their amazing goals against totals. Having a healthy Pekka Rinne back helps in a huge way although, I believe Carter Hutton gets the start tonight.

The Preds will be without another newbie, Anton Volchenkov after he did this in Calgary a few days back:

Nice forearm!

AS FOR THE CANUCKS

We are goin' streakin'! 4 game-winning streak on the line. This will be a very tough challenge. They can't look ahead to the Colorado / California road trip. They cannot take Nashville lightly.

-The Canucks recalled Bo Horvat from his conditioning stint in Utica. Will he play tonight? Apparently he is!  He enjoyed his stint with the Comets:

-Alexandre Burrows will serve his 2nd game of a 3-game suspension tonight.

-Not sure who starts in goal either. Miller is playing so well...Lack needs to keep playing to find his groove back....

-Radim Vrbata has only 1 goal in his last 6 games. Shit list material hey? Just kidding. These snipers get streaky. At least he does a lot of good things when he's on the ice.

This game preview has been brought to you by that country legend Taylor Swift (Nooooooooooooooooooo):

GO CANUCKS GO! LIGHTNING ON YOUR FEET!
