Canucks Stat Leaders After 10 Games

Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

Because...why the hell not. Let's check out what Canucks are leading the main stat categories after the first 10 games of this regular season.

TEAM RECORD / STATS / RANKING

7-3-0

-Tied for 2nd in the Western Conference with 14 points with Nashville, Los Angeles and San Jose. Anaheim has 16 points in 11 games played.

-5th in the NHL behind Montreal, Anaheim, Tampa Bay and Nashville

-6th in the NHL with a 3.30 goals per game average

-20th in the NHL with a 2.90 goals against per game average

-22nd in the NHL with a 0.87 goals for/against percentage

-The Canucks' 23.7% power play efficiency rate ranks them 7th in the NHL. What a change THAT is from last season....so far.....

-Vancouver's 87.2% penalty kill rate ranks them 5th in the NHL

-The Canucks are 4th in the NHL in shots per game average (32.5)

-They are 13th in the League in shots against per game (29.1)

-The Canucks are 2nd in the NHL in 2nd period goals scored. They are kind of mid-pack on 1st and 3rd period goals scored.

-They allow a "lot" of 1st and 2nd period goals against on average, but allow less goals against in the 3rd period (8 in 10 games)

-The Canucks are in the middle of he pack with minor penalties taken and even penalty minutes per game average (17th).

-In the hitting department, the Canucks are ranked 26th

-Blocked shots? 15th in the NHL

-Vancouver is averaging a 45.5% win rate in the faceoff dot. So when the MSM writes Manny pieces and your heart goes a flutter. Think again. Faceoff wins are hardly everything.
