In a perfect world, I could tell my boss at work, "Nope, not working, Canucks are on." But that would leave me fired and with no paycheck, so I'll be keeping this recap brief as I was not able to catch enough of it to write a full recap off of. Thankfully, the Canucks publish each of their goals on YouTube.
Ryan Miller delivered another brilliant performance, stopping 29 shots to earn his 300th career victory. Brad Richardson delivered the first and last goals of the night as the Canucks defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 4-1 at Rogers Arena on Tuesday night.
So here is how the Canucks won this game.
1st Period: 1:32 - Brad Richardson; Assists - Zack Kassian, Shawn Matthias
The Canucks have a knack for scoring quick so far this season. Brad Richardson opened the scoring just 92 seconds into this one with a wrist shot that got just enough of the net to count.
2nd Period: 0:50 - Linden Vey (PPG); Assists - Radim Vrbata, Henrik Sedin
All three of Linden Vey's goals this season have come on the power play, an area that desperately needed attention for the Canucks this year.
2nd Period: 18:39 - Jannik Hansen; Assists - Yannick Weber, Luca Sbisa
Yannick to Jannik sounds like some sort of new Tuesday night sitcom.
With 17 seconds left in the game, Brad Richardson added an empty-netter to seal the victory. The Canucks are now 6-3 to start the year and have won three of their first four games at home. Vancouver wraps up a three game homestand on Thursday against the Canadiens.
